Stacy Gearhart, JD, LLM, CHPC
Cofounder and Principal
Clients take confidence in Stacy’s two-decade-plus experience working with healthcare organizations across the U.S. They also respect her specific expertise in hospital receivables management. In fact, Stacy previously founded and ran Trilogi, Inc. which provided revenue recovery services for multiple types of denied claims.
Subsequently, she and her partners co-founded Advicare with a razor-sharp focus on clinical denials, the most complex and often most costly type of denied claims, which can have a disproportionately negative impact on a hospital’s bottom line.
Stacy applies her passion for justice and fairness to the work Advicare provides on behalf of healthcare organizations and – by extension – patients. She’s out to level the playing field and ensure patients receive the medically necessary care they require.
Stacy earned her J.D. from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans and her Master of Law degree in Health Law from Loyola University School of Law in Chicago. She is an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA), the American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management (AAHAM), and the American Health Lawyers Association. She is certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association.
Gloriann Sordo, Esq.
Cofounder and Principal
With an eye for innovation and demonstrating value, Gloriann has incorporated her valuable skillset into what Advicare brings to the table. These traits are what Advicare delivers in each client relationship, and they are what Advicare’s clients have come to expect.
Gloriann has developed a passion for ensuring Advicare’s clients get compensated for what they deserve, and her passion for decreasing and preventing denials is contagious. It has inspired and driven Advicare’s industry-leading results. Through two decades of healthcare leadership experience, she has perfected a “partnership” approach with clients, working together to identify root causes of denied claims and applying clinical findings and persuasive legal arguments to recover billions of dollars in denied revenue.
Gloriann is admitted to the Florida Bar and received her J.D. from Nova Southeastern University – Shepard Broad College of Law in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration with a minor in Information Technology from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida and is an active member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, American Association of Healthcare Administrative Management, and various local organizations and charities.
Barbara L. Toole
Cofounder and Principal
Through Barbara’s dedication and sound business acumen, she ensures an environment that is conducive to analyzing and appealing denied claims. Backed by Advicare’s team of innovative and experienced information and technology professionals, Barbara ensures that the information needed to resolve problematic healthcare claims is secure, accurate, and easily accessible. This enables Advicare’s clinical, legal, coding, and denial resolution experts to experience such success on behalf of their clients when facing the challenge of overturning claims that payers have denied.
Advicare clients reap the benefit of Barbara’s long tenure in the healthcare receivables management industry. Her intimate knowledge of healthcare industry database and collection systems gained over the years and as the IT Director for Trilogi, Inc., has led to her combined oversight of $500 million in healthcare receivables. She has gained the insight to integrate with hospital business offices to act as a seamless extension of these offices, while ensuring data integrity.
Barbara earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering at the University of South Florida.
Laurie Beck, BSN, RN, CCM
Senior Vice-President, Clinical Operations
Laurie is the author who presents the case to payers on behalf of our clients for overturning denied claims. Her superior research skills and direct, on-point writing leads the way for Advicare clients to achieve the results they desire and deserve. Through Laurie’s 15+ years of Case Management/Utilization Review Legal Nurse Consultant experience, Laurie leverages her extensive knowledge of healthcare rules and regulations for commercial and government payers, as well as a thorough understanding of internal hospital processes to positively impact healthcare revenue recovery for our clients. Armed with a support team of multispecialty nurses, she functions as an integral member of the organization’s finance team, achieving great success overturning the full spectrum of denials and underpayments.
Laurie earned her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Florida Southern College and holds a State of Florida Nursing License.
Vice President of Data Analytics and Process Improvement
Experience breeds effectiveness, and when coupled with dedication, it yields client results. With more than two decades holding leadership roles in a variety of healthcare settings including accountability for Billing, Collections, Charge Master/Charge Entry, Coding, and Reconciliations, Monique knows the landscape, and she knows what to look for, examining the data and helping us identify, resolve, and close the claims denial gap for continued client successes. When looking for a partner to help your business recover denied claims revenue, Monique has a documented track record of effectively streamlining processes and producing positive results.
Monique’s passion for leadership, change management and process improvement has become the common ground for Advicare’s operational philosophy as a partner, an extension of our clients’ business offices.
Senior Vice-President of Partner Relations
With the level of thoroughness and thoughtfulness that would impress any client, Bob quickly builds a strong rapport with clients and gains their trust as their “financial advocate.” He excels at understanding client expectations and ensuring that service and performance shine. And as a steward for Advicare sales and marketing operations, he knows how to manage the critical alignment of promises, expectations, and deliverables.
A keen understanding of healthcare revenue cycle management gained through more than two decades of industry and leadership experience powers the passion that Bob contributes to our clients and their quest to recover revenue.
Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Organizational Management from Cabrini College, Radnor, Pennsylvania. He is also a ten-year veteran of the U.S. Navy Submarine Force.
Director of Human Resources
Marla is a key member of Advicare’s leadership team and concentrates on relationship building, performance and talent management, strategic management, hands-on management, and coaching and change management.
Marla has more than 10 years’ experience in human resources and continuous improvement. She dedicates her time to cultivating a positive, energizing company culture and derives her passion from helping employees identify and achieve their goals.
Her experience spans Canada and the United States and encompasses recruitment, payroll, benefits, compensation, and leadership in human resources. Excited and invigorated by challenges in the workplace, Marla thrives in Advicare’s dynamic, results-driven environment, where employees’ collaboration and achievements are highly valued.
Marla earned a bachelor’s degree in Human Resources and Leadership, Human Resources Management and Services from Rasmussen College. She also attended Red River College, where she studied Business Management and Business Administration.
